In 2019, Flint River Soil and Water Conservation District joined with a range of local and state partners to spearhead a Smart Irrigation outreach campaign, which takes place annually every July during Smart Irrigation Month.

Over the years, the Flint River Soil and Water Conservation district has provided direct financial and technical assistance to farmers across the region for Smart Irrigation technologies, such as updated sprinkler packages, soil moisture sensors, and irrigation scheduling tools.

The Flint River Soil and Water Conservation District offers uniformity tests to farmers across the District through the Mobile Irrigation Lab.

COMING SOON! In 2020, the Flint River Soil and Water Conservation District partnered with USDA NRCS, Georgia EPD, and the University of Georgia to develop an irrigation scheduling smart phone app for pecans.

In 2019, the Flint River Soil and Water Conservation District worked with the USDA ARS National Peanut Research Lab and Austn Ltd to update the trusted Irrigator Pro desktop tool into a smart phone application, offering real time Smart Irrigation recommendations directly to your phone or device.
